Hong Kong – the mecca for designer fashions?

Hong Kong has more designer clothes shops per sq metre than any city in the world.

From Versace to Rolex, enormous sparkling new malls sprawl with the top fashion houses, some of which I admittedly did not know existed.  It seems that the tax free status of Hong Kong is enough to lure all the big labels in.  French fashion houses are in force, and everywhere you go within the malls you’ll find the finest of everything.

It might be too far for a typical girls shopping trip, but try the Penisula or Intercontinental to stay – do some shopping – then fly on to Australia.
